Wikipedia co-founder Jimmy Wales has launched a social media website. It is believed that this popular social media will be the rival of Facebook and micro-blogging website Twitter.

This new social networking website has been named WT: Social. Like Facebook's news feed, users can share links and discuss articles here. Different topics are given here, ranging from politics, education to technology.

WT: Scocial is a news centric social media website where you can create a free account just like Facebook. In many ways, this social media website is also different from Facebook.

Like Wikipedia, WT: Social will also be publicly funded. The company will run the business with the money given by the users. The special thing about the business of such a model is that you do not get advertisements here. Jimmy Wales says that the business model of social media companies is entirely on advertising and this is a problem. Because of this, only poor quality content wins.
In fact, Jimmy Wales wants clickbait, advertisements and poor quality content on WT: Social. Therefore, the algorithm of WT: Social is also quite different from that of Facebook and Twitter. Upvote button will be added for quality stories here.

According to the report of FT, more than 200 people have given donations for this and till now it has 50000 users. It was released for public only last month.

If you also have to create an account on WT: Social, then for now you will have to wait. You can sign up by entering email id, name and date of birth, but will not be able to use it now. You can donate to skip the weight list.

According to an FT report, Jimmy Wales has said that it will not give much profit, but it will sustain. Jimmy Wales has said that this social site will be completely free from click bet.
