While the Snapdragon 845 is lined up to follow the Snapdragon 835 for next years flagship models, with rumours suggesting that Samsung will get almost all of the first batch of the 845 for the Galaxy S9. The Snapdragon 845 will be announced at the Snapdragon Technology Summit which is to be held in December. The internet had been buzzing with rumours about the Snapdragon 845 chipset ever since it was spotted on LinkedIn on the profile of a senior employee. That has since been taken down, but that had done nothing to quell the excitement. Now that there is confirmation that the chipset will be launched in December, the long wait begins to get our hands on the phones running the 845 series.
We won’t see the Snapdragon in a production device before the Summer which is when we expect the high-end Galaxy S’s to start rolling out. The Snapdragon 845 will have four ARM Cortex A75 cores and four ARM Cortex A53 cores.
It will also come with the Adreno 630 GPU which means it will have enhanced graphics capabilities. The upcoming chipset will also be able to provide speeds of up to 1.2Gbps. For the moment we can’t wait for December to come by and come across the first handsets that will be powered by the new processors.
